ぬく: persisting through difficulty to the end

Learn ぬく with its focus on persevering through a task. Compare overlap with きる and uses that highlight sustained effort or thorough thought.

The process of not giving up

The masu-stem plus ぬく expresses carrying an action through despite difficulty. means that the speaker completed the difficult training, bringing out the effort of enduring it.

, 一日で sets the duration while やり抜く presents carrying the work through. ぬく itself does not specify a long period or a fixed amount of time.

Overlap with きる, but a different focus

focuses on completing a long run. brings out continuing to the end without stopping despite the difficulty.

Completion and perseverance can occur together, so the expressions can overlap in a real situation. However, do not automatically replace everyday combinations such as 食べ切れない, used for being unable to finish a large amount of food, with ぬく.

Persistence and thorough thinking

means that the speaker upheld their ideas to the end despite opposition from people around them. Maintaining a stance can be central even when no physical quantity is used up.

means that the speaker chose this proposal after days of thorough thought. Thinking deeply does not by itself guarantee that the choice is correct.

report a task already completed?

Show the answer and why

No. It states an intention to carry the task through despite difficulty. Although ぬく points to completion, the final つもりです still expresses a plan or intention.
