- Kotomoa selects the SVG files used by its canonical kanji set and reconstructs each as a sanitized two-layer SVG. It retains the 0 0 109 109 viewBox, stroke path geometry, stroke-number text, and label transforms; removes original dimensions, identifiers, nested semantic groups, KanjiVG namespace metadata, and other non-allowlisted markup; adds data-kanjivg-layer and data-stroke-number attributes; orders strokes and labels by stroke number; and changes stroke and label colors to currentColor.

- KanjiVG-derived SVGs are distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0.
- Compliance scope
- Attribution does not imply endorsement by Ulrich Apel or the KanjiVG project. Each modified SVG remains distributed under CC BY-SA 3.0 without additional restrictions; this does not relicense unrelated Kotomoa code or data.
