〜ても: a result that holds even under a condition
Connect an even-if or even-though clause to its result. Distinguish concession from permission and from an unexpected completed event.
Add も to the te-form
雨が降っても、散歩に行きます。 says you will go for a walk even if it rains. The condition of rain does not change the intention.
Use 高くても for an i-adjective, and 雨でも or 静かでも for nouns and na-adjectives. Verbs retain their te-form sound changes, as in 飲んでも.
Compare a condition with an established fact
高くても買います。 expresses choosing to buy even if it is expensive. 高いのに買いました。 presents the completed purchase despite the known high price.
ても is not limited to imagined future conditions. 何度読んでも分かりません。 can describe repeated actual attempts that still do not lead to understanding.
Read the ending to distinguish permission
ここで待ってもいいです。 gives permission to wait here. The permission comes from the whole expression てもいい.
待っても来ませんでした。 instead reports that the person did not come despite the wait. Do not infer permission from ても alone.
Quick check: Does 時間がなくても、朝ご飯は食べます say that lack of time leads to skipping breakfast?
Show the answer and why
No. The person eats breakfast even when short of time. The action is maintained despite the condition.
