遂行 and 実行: carrying out a mission, plan, or command
Compare an assigned mission and procedure review for safe execution with an agreed plan and checking a command before execution, preserving actions, aims, and instructions.
遂行: an assigned mission and an aim of safety
遂行 (すいこう) means execution or accomplishment. means “The team members carried out their assigned mission.” The team members carried out the mission assigned to them. 与えられた identifies the mission as assigned; the sentence does not supply its details or additional achievements.
means “We reviewed the procedure to complete the plan safely.” The action that occurred was reviewing the procedure. 安全に遂行するため gives the purpose of safely completing the plan, without proving that reviewing it guaranteed execution or safe completion.
実行: an agreed plan and a command to check
実行 (じっこう) means execution or implementation. means “We promptly carried out the plan we had agreed upon.” The agreed plan was promptly carried out. 話し合って決めた describes the plan as settled through discussion, and the example explicitly reports past execution.
means “Check the contents before executing this command.” The Japanese 確認する is nonpast, and the English translation gives an instruction to check the command's contents before execution. Keep that instruction separate from a claim that the check or command execution has already occurred.
Separate execution from its preparation and purpose
Compare the assigned mission and the purpose of safe execution under 遂行 with carrying out an agreed plan and checking a command's contents before execution under 実行. The English gloss execution overlaps; the words alone do not establish different successful outcomes.
The procedure review has a purpose expressed with ため, while the command check is a nonpast instruction. These stages should remain distinct.
How do reviewing a procedure 計画を安全に遂行するため and 話し合って決めた計画を実行した differ in stage?
Show the answer and why
The first is a preparatory review aimed at safe execution; the second reports actually carrying out the agreed plan. The review does not establish safe completion. The separate instruction to check a command before execution must also not become a past completed check or execution.
