過程 and 結果: the course of an activity and its outcome

Compare recording a production process with checking test results, without inferring a problem-free process from a favorable outcome.

How an activity unfolds

過程, read かてい, means the course or process of an activity. says that the process of making the work was recorded.

says that a new proposal emerged during the discussion. It does not establish that the proposal became the final decision.

What emerges from an activity or test

結果, read けっか, means an outcome or result. says that the test result was checked.

says that the result was good, but there was a problem along the way. Distinguish the outcome from the intermediate situation.

Do not infer the entire process from its result

says that both process and result will be checked. Both items are specified, so the process must not be omitted when interpreting the sentence.

says that only the result was viewed. It does not also establish checking the production method or intermediate decisions.

establish that the process was free of problems?

Show the answer and why

No. The result was good, but a problem occurred along the way. The evaluation of the result must not be extended to the entire process.
