縁: a continuing connection and an opportunity to visit

Compare a connection continuing after a chance meeting with a workshop tour enabled by the father's connections. Read the relationship and opportunity without adding destiny, marriage or ownership.

A chance meeting and a connection continuing now

「旅先で偶然出会った人との縁が今も続いている。」 (I am still connected with a person I happened to meet while traveling.)

The chance meeting during travel and the continuing connection are both stated. 縁 does not by itself establish romance, marriage or a guaranteed lifelong relationship.

A workshop tour enabled by the father's connections

「父の縁で地域の工房を見学できた。」 (Through my father's connections, I was able to tour a local workshop.)

The father's connections made the workshop tour possible. Having that connection does not itself say the father owns the workshop.

A relationship continuing and a connection enabling an opportunity

One scene concerns a connection continuing after a chance meeting; the other concerns an opportunity enabled by existing connections. Read the continuing relationship and the enabled opportunity separately.

This workshop example does not guarantee that every connection brings the same opportunity. The existence of a connection also does not by itself specify a family, employment or romantic relationship.

Does touring the workshop through 父の縁 establish that the father owns that workshop?

Show the answer and why

No. It says the father's connections enabled the tour. Ownership and the precise kind of connection require separate information.
