電灯, 照明, and 灯り: lamps, lighting, and light

Compare the entrance 電灯, stage or desk 照明, and 灯り in a window or from a phone. Identify the lamp switched on, the lighting changed, the fixture installed, and the light used while moving.

電灯: a lamp switched on or giving light

電灯, read でんとう, names an electric light or lamp. says it grew dark, so the entrance light was turned on. 玄関の電灯 is the fixture switched on.

says the soft glow of an old lamp illuminated the desk. 電灯 names the lamp, while 柔らかな光 names the light coming from it.

照明: lighting and an installed light

照明, read しょうめい, refers to lighting or a light fixture. says the stage lighting changed with the actors' movements. Identify the lighting that changed and its relationship to the actors' movements.

says a bright light was installed above the desk. Here 照明 names what was installed, so it cannot be restricted to the action of lighting a space.

灯り: light in a window or from a phone

says a small light glowed in the mountain hut window. 小さな describes the light rather than the window.

says the phone's light was used to descend the stairs during the outage. 灯り names the light relied on while moving. This example does not restrict the word to a fixed electric lamp.

What do 取り付けた照明 and 携帯電話の灯り name, and how does 電灯 connect with them?

Show the answer and why

取り付けた照明 names the installed light fixture, while 携帯電話の灯り names light from the phone. 電灯 names the lamp switched on or giving light in its examples. Restricting 照明 to an action or 灯り to a fixed lamp would miss these uses.
