電池 and 電球: a power source and a light-producing part

Distinguish batteries from light bulbs and separate replacement actions from operating results.

Inserting a battery

means putting a battery into a clock or watch.

says that the battery ran out of power. It does not describe physically cutting it.

Replacing a light bulb

means replacing an old bulb with a new one.

means that the bulb burned out. Although both examples use 切れる, distinguish the operating condition of a battery from that of a bulb.

Action and result

says that the battery was changed but the clock still does not work. Do not turn replacement into a successful repair.

says that two bulbs were bought but only one was installed. Count purchases separately from installations.

Was the clock fixed in

Show the answer and why
