Overlapping Company Roles and a Union Officer
Compare company executives explaining a policy with officers elected for the next fiscal year and a union officer's election. Preserve organizational scope and the stated timing.
A company officer and a next-year election
役員 (やくいん) means an executive or officer. — “A company executive explained the new policy.” The company executive explained a new policy, a reported past action.
— “The general meeting elected officers for the next fiscal year.” The officers elected at the general meeting are for the next fiscal year. The election alone does not add a claim that their term has already begun.
Company executives and a union officer
幹部 (かんぶ) means an executive or officer. — “A company executive explained the new policy to the employees.” The company executive explained the policy to employees. Explaining a policy overlaps with the action in the 役員 example.
— “A young employee was elected as a union officer.” The young employee was elected as a union officer. Keep 組合 as the organization rather than changing the role into company management.
Read the organization and action
The two company-policy examples show that 役員 and 幹部 can overlap in use. They do not supply a fixed hierarchy between the terms.
The election examples specify a next-fiscal-year role and a union role respectively. Keep those separate events and do not limit every 幹部 to a position within a company.
Does being elected as 組合の幹部 mean the young employee was elected to company management?
Show the answer and why
No such company role is established. The stated position is a union officer. Preserve 組合 rather than merging the person's affiliation with the separate company-executive example.
