受付 and 締め切り: reception hours and an application deadline

Read different time limits for a reception counter and online applications, without treating counter closure as the end of every application method.

Receiving applications or visitors

受付, read うけつけ, means receiving applications or visitors, or the desk doing so. says that visitors' names are checked at reception.

says that counter reception lasts until five in the afternoon. Read 窓口での as limiting the specified reception method.

The limit for applying or submitting

締め切り, read しめきり, means an application or submission deadline. says that online applications close at eleven at night.

asks for the required documents to be submitted by the deadline. Check the specific instructions for submission method and arrival requirements.

Separating methods and dates

If counter reception ends at five and online applications close at eleven, the times bound different methods. Do not turn the counter's closing time into the online deadline.

says that advance applications closed yesterday, but check-in on the day is this morning. Application and visitor reception may occur on different dates for the same event.

If counter reception ends at five p.m. and online applications close at eleven p.m., do online applications also end when the counter closes?

Show the answer and why
