提案 and 助言: proposals and advice

Distinguish accepting a proposal from offering it, and following advice from receiving it.

Putting forward a plan

提案, read ていあん, means a proposal offered for consideration. means proposing a new method.

says that the proposal is still under consideration. Do not translate it as already accepted or rejected.

Offering helpful guidance

助言, read じょげん, means advice intended to help a judgment or action. means asking a teacher for advice.

means receiving advice. It does not automatically establish acting on that advice.

Acceptance and action

says that the proposal was adopted, but implementation is next month. Separate approval from implementation.

says that someone considered a friend's advice and made their own decision. Do not assign the final decision to the friend.

Does 助言を受けました establish that the advice was followed?

Show the answer and why
