執着 and 情熱: attachment to a target and passion for an activity
Compare clinging to methods or winning with passion for music or work, distinguishing a conditional consequence from a change actually described.
Attachment to old methods or winning
says that clinging to old methods leads to missed opportunities for improvement. 古い方法 is the target of attachment.
“彼は勝敗への執着を手放した。” reports that he let go of his obsession with winning and losing. Read that as a completed change without saying that winning and losing themselves ceased to exist.
Passion for music and a changed workshop
reports her speaking about her passion for music. Speaking about it is the action directly stated.
“若い職人の情熱が工房に新しい風をもたらしました。” says that a young artisan's enthusiasm brought fresh energy to the workshop. This example supplies a change brought about by the passion.
Read the target and the condition
The method example describes the consequence of clinging to that method; the workshop example describes a change passion brought. Identify what is held onto or what activity the feeling concerns.
Do not make 執着 always bad or 情熱 always produce a good result. Changing methods does not guarantee success, and speaking about musical passion does not establish a performance already completed.
Show the answer and why
No. It reports speaking about passion for music. The workshop example separately states a change brought by enthusiasm, so keep each sentence's stated action and result distinct.
