Implementing rules and carrying out construction
Compare 施行(しこう) for rules or systems with 施工(せこう) for construction. Read the play’s past implementation separately from a session held before implementation.
Implementing a rule or system
施行 means enforcement or implementation. says a new rule took effect the following month in the town in a play. It is a past event relative to the story’s timeline.
describes holding an explanation session for staff before implementing a system. Completing the session does not itself report completed implementation.
Carrying out construction
施工 means construction or installation. reports an experienced company carrying out bridge repairs. The target is construction work rather than a rule.
concerns checking construction against the drawings on site. The construction being checked is the focus; the sentence does not guarantee conformity or completion for every project.
Connect the reading with the target
In these examples, 施行 is read しこう for implementing rules or systems, while 施工 is read せこう for construction work or its inspection. The object helps identify the expression as well as its reading.
The first sentence reports a past event in a play; the second reports a session held before implementation. The construction sentences describe work and its inspection without setting legal effects or construction procedures.
