連帯 and 協調: solidarity, shared responsibility, and harmony

Compare recovery work and shared contractual responsibility in 連帯 with cooperation and harmony in 協調. Preserve personal opinions without adding equal liability amounts or a completed recovery.

連帯: working in solidarity and sharing responsibility

連帯 (れんたい) can describe people linked in joint action or responsibility. 「住民たちは互いに連帯して復旧を進めた。」 means “Residents worked in solidarity on the recovery.” 互いに連帯して expresses their solidarity, while 復旧を進めた describes advancing the recovery rather than completing the entire recovery.

「契約書には連帯して責任を負うと書かれている。」 means “The contract states that the parties share responsibility.” The sentence reports the contract's wording about shared responsibility. That wording alone does not establish equal amounts of liability or a particular legal enforcement procedure.

協調: cooperating across positions and expressing an opinion

協調 (きょうちょう) focuses on cooperation or harmony. 「異なる立場の人々が協調して問題に取り組んだ。」 means “People with different positions cooperated in addressing the problem.” People with differing positions worked on the problem together; the sentence does not say that every difference of opinion disappeared.

「周囲との協調を大切にしながら自分の意見も伝えた。」 means “I expressed my own opinion while valuing harmony with those around me.” The wording presents valuing harmony and expressing a personal opinion together. It does not mean that the speaker abandoned that opinion in order to cooperate.

Do not add outcomes or conditions to working together

The 連帯 scenes focus on residents' solidarity during recovery and a contract's shared responsibility. The 協調 scenes focus on cooperation across positions and harmony with others. Although both involve acting together, the specific activity, responsibility, or attitude remains different in each sentence.

Advancing recovery is not completing it, and shared responsibility does not automatically mean equal financial burdens. Cooperation does not erase personal views either. When 自分の意見も伝えた appears, retain both elements: harmony matters, and the speaker still expresses an opinion.

Does 「協調を大切にしながら自分の意見も伝えた」 mean that the speaker gave up their own opinion?

Show the answer and why

No. The speaker expressed their own opinion while valuing harmony with others. Cooperation and the expression of a personal view are both present.
