面接 and 採用: an interview and a hiring decision
Distinguish undergoing an interview from being hired, and recognize 採用 as adopting a method.
Undergoing an interview
面接, read めんせつ, means interview. 会社の面接を受けました。 means having an interview with a company.
面接の日程が決まりました。 says that the interview schedule was set. It does not report completion of the interview.
A hiring result
採用, read さいよう, means hiring or adoption. 会社に採用されました。 means being hired by a company.
採用の結果を待っています。 means waiting for the hiring result. It does not say that acceptance or rejection is already known.
Adopting people or methods
新しい方法を採用しました。 means adopting a new method. 採用 does not always concern hiring staff.
面接は終わりましたが、採用はまだ決まっていません。 says that the interview is over, but the hiring decision has not been made. Separate procedure from result.
