経過: the doctor's account of recovery and thirty elapsed minutes

Distinguish recovery after surgery as explained by a doctor from thirty minutes elapsing before work ended, preserving the speaker and time order.

The doctor explaining recovery

手術後の経過は順調だと医師が説明した。 reports a doctor explaining that recovery after surgery was progressing well. 経過, read けいか, concerns the course after an event, and 医師 is the person who explained it.

順調だ is the content of the doctor's explanation. The sentence is not a report by the patient to the doctor and does not establish completed treatment.

Work ended after thirty minutes

三十分が経過したので作業を終えた。 says that thirty minutes elapsed, so the work was finished. 三十分が経過した supplies elapsed time, and 作業を終えた supplies the subsequent actual finish.

Preserve the sequence in which thirty minutes elapsed and work was then ended for that reason. It is not thirty minutes after the end of work, nor does it introduce a doctor's time instruction.

A course of events and elapsed time

The surgery example concerns how recovery was progressing; the other concerns how much time passed. Their shared 経過 does not make a condition's course and a time amount identical.

The doctor's explanation belongs to this stated case, not a general health judgment. Read the work's time order without combining the two examples into an invented treatment schedule.

Does the doctor's account of 経過 give the same information as 三十分が経過した?

Show the answer and why

No. The first gives the doctor's account of recovery progressing well. The second gives thirty elapsed minutes followed by the end of work.
