完走 and 走行: a finished race, a finishing goal, and driving

Read marathon completion and a goal set at the start alongside prototype driving and rainy-day visibility.

完走: a completed race and a goal at the start

完走 (かんそう) means completion of a race. means “I completed my first community marathon at my own pace.” Completion of the first community marathon at the speaker's own pace is explicit, without a placing or time.

means “I began running with the goal of finishing rather than placing.” Finishing rather than placing was the goal when running began.

走行: a driven prototype and visibility during travel

走行 (そうこう) means driving or travel. means “We drove the prototype vehicle on a dedicated road.” 走行させた describes having the prototype driven on a dedicated road.

means “Visibility while driving tends to be poor on rainy days.” 悪くなりやすい expresses a tendency for poor visibility during driving on rainy days.

Separate endpoint completion from starting

Driving the vehicle or describing visibility during travel does not establish arrival at every route's endpoint.

Does starting to run with 完走 as the goal establish a completed race?

Show the answer and why

No. Only the goal and start are reported. The separate first-marathon example with 完走した explicitly reports completion.
