放送 and 番組: broadcasting and programs
Separate transmitting content from the program being transmitted.
The broadcasting process
放送 (ほうそう) means broadcasting. 「試合を放送しています」 says a game is being broadcast.
「放送は九時に始まります」 sets the broadcast start at nine. This need not be the game's own starting time.
The program as content
番組 (ばんぐみ) means program. 「好きな番組を録画しました」 means recording a favorite program.
「この番組は三十分です」 gives a thirty-minute program duration, not its starting time.
Viewing versus transmission
「番組は録画しましたが、まだ見ていません」 says the program was recorded but has not yet been watched. Recording and viewing are distinct.
「再放送を見ました」 means watching a repeat broadcast. It does not make the original transmission and the viewing simultaneous.
Does recording a program establish that it has already been watched?
Show the answer and why
No. Saving it and watching it are separate actions.
