反則 and 違反: fouls and different reports of violations

Compare a foul warning and a pre-match check with inability to play after a rule violation and a parking notice, without inventing additional penalties.

反則 (はんそく): a warning and an advance check

「審判は危険な反則をした選手に注意した。」 (“The referee warned the player who committed a dangerous foul.”) The reported result is a warning for a dangerous foul. It does not also report ejection, disqualification, or another sanction.

「試合前にどの行為が反則になるか確認した。」 (“Before the game, we checked which actions would be fouls.”) The action is checking in advance what counts as a foul. The check does not mean a foul has actually been committed.

違反 (いはん): a rule and a parking notice

「規則に違反したため試合に出られなかった。」 (“A rule violation kept me out of the game.”) In this example, breaking a rule prevents participation in the match. Do not make every separately reported foul warning carry that same result.

「駐車違反の札が車の窓に付いていた。」 (“A parking violation notice was attached to the car window.”) The sentence reports a parking-violation notice. It does not supply a fine amount, payment procedure, or another penalty for the driver.

Separate the violation word from its stated result

The 反則 examples concern sporting fouls, while 違反 appears with a rule and parking. Their settings do not establish that every violation leads to disqualification.

A warning, an advance check, inability to play, and a notice provide different information. Read what is stated instead of deriving an additional penalty or completed action from the word alone.

Does receiving a warning for a dangerous 反則 also report ejection or disqualification?

Show the answer and why

No. Only the warning is reported. The parking 違反 notice also does not state a fine or procedure, and one example's result should not be transferred to another.
