Formally indicates taking deliberate action to accomplish a clear purpose.

Structure: Attach べく to a dictionary-form verb to state the purpose of the following action in a formal style. する also takes the form すべく.
Basic usage: 事故を防ぐべく、設備を全面的に点検した。 means that the equipment was comprehensively inspected in order to prevent accidents.

Distinction from obligation with べきだ
