Very formally announces that consultations or procedures have resulted in a particular decision.

As a result of the discussions, the ceremony has been formally postponed.

As a result of the deliberations, the proposal has been formally approved.

Structure: Follow a noun naming a decided outcome with と相成る to announce it in a highly formal manner. 相成る is read あいなる.
Basic usage: 協議の結果、式典は延期と相成りました。 formally announces that discussions resulted in postponement of the ceremony.

Register compared with となる
- Both 延期となりました and 延期と相成りました state that postponement is the outcome. The latter suits ceremonial or highly formal announcements.
と after the outcome noun
- Connect the outcome noun with と, as in 中止と相成った or 承認と相成りました. Inflect the final 相成る for past tense and politeness.
