Basic usage: 駅まで十分で着いた。 means that reaching the station took ten minutes.

in; within

Follows an expression of time to indicate the limited period needed for an action or change to be completed.

Examples

駅まで十分で着いた。

I reached the station in ten minutes.

靴は数日で乾いた。

The shoes dried in a few days.

Reading the time expression
- Here, 十分 is a time quantity read じゅっぷん or じっぷん. Distinguish it from じゅうぶん, meaning sufficient.
Time to completion and time spent acting
- 三日で読んだ gives the time taken to finish reading; 三日間読んだ gives the duration of reading. The latter alone does not establish that the book was finished.
