Evaluates a quality or feeling as having reached the furthest possible extreme.

無責任な発言を重ねるとは、愚かさの極みだ。

Making one irresponsible remark after another is the height of foolishness.

Structure: Attach の極み to a noun naming a quality or feeling to assess it emphatically as extreme. 極み is read きわみ.

Connecting through a noun
- 愚かさの極み uses the nominalized quality 愚かさ, while 無礼の極み uses the noun 無礼. Do not attach it directly after an adjective's attributive form as in 愚かなの極み.
